There is a variety of clinical pictures, including multiple finger injury at different anatomical levels, on dominant or non-dominant hand. Finger amputation can influence hand function, although there is a lack of evidence in the existing literature. Methods: Our study included patients with partial or complete finger (one or more) amputation of one hand. They were examined at the Outpatient Clinic for Orthotics and Prosthetics at the University Rehabilitation Institute in Ljubljana. For evaluation of hand function, we used the SHAP test (Southampton Hand Assessment Procedure). Results: Measurements were performed in 15 subjects. Amputation of fingers significantly affected the overall grip index, the index for the three-pod grip and pinch grip (p < 0.05), while the differences regarding other grasp indices were not statistically significant. Conclusions: Our conclusion based on the SHAP test is that finger amputation can influence hand function; the effect is most obvious in pinch and tripod grip"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Izhodišča: Med vsemi amputacijami so amputacije prstov na roki najpogostejše. Klinične slike so pestre, lahko je poškodovanih več prstov, na različnih anatomskih ravneh, na dominantni ali nedominantni roki. Znano je, da amputacija prstov vpliva na funkcijo roke, vendar je o tem v doslej objavljeni literaturi malo podatkov. Metode: V raziskavo smo vključili osebe po delni ali popolni amputaciji enega ali več prstov na roki, ki so bile pregledane v ambulanti za ročno protetiko URI - Soča. Funkcije roke smo ugotavljali s Southamptonskim testom za ocenjevanje roke (Southampton Hand Assessment Procedure - SHAP). Rezultati: Meritve smo opravili pri petnajstih osebah. Amputacija prstov je statistično značilno vplivala na skupni indeks prijemov, indeks za triprstni prijem in pincetni prijem (p<0,05), za ostale prijeme pa razlika med roko z amputiranimi prsti in nepoškodovano roko ni bila statistično značilna.
