Movement is especially important for children and adolescents in the period of elementary school education, so it should be encouraged both by organizing activities in school and providing adequate spatial conditions. Movement in connection with buildings or the architecture of elementary schools can be considered from three aspects of the use of space (and equipment): movement in the primary role of space use (physical or sport education), movement in the secondary role of space use (part of other organized activities at school) and movement in the role of basic functional use of space (everyday school life). On the case study of the Frederiksbjerg elementary school building in Aarhus, Denmark, which is a high-profile example of a contemporary school building designed to encourage movement, we recorded the spaces, elements and solutions of the space and equipment in connection with movement and carried out a categorization according to the aspect of movement as a use of space. We determined which elements of architectural design can be used to encourage movement in school. Including spaces, elements and solutions of the space and equipment that correspond to all three aspects of movement as a use of space, their distribution throughout the school building and the associated outdoor space, attractive design and multi-purpose use, and easy accessibility contribute to this"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Telesna dejavnost oz. gibanje je eden izmed ključnih dejavnikov, ki vplivajo na duševno, telesno in kognitivno zdravje posameznika, ima pa tudi širše družbene učinke. Gibanje je še posebej pomembno za otroke in mladostnike v obdobju osnovnošolskega izobraževanja, zato bi ga morali spodbujati tako z organizacijo aktivnosti v šoli kot prostorskimi pogoji zanje. Gibanje v povezavi s stavbami oz. arhitekturo osnovnih šol lahko obravnavamo s treh vidikov rabe prostora (in opreme): gibanje v primarni vlogi rabe prostora (pouk telesne oz. športne vzgoje), gibanje v sekundarni vlogi rabe prostora (del drugih organiziranih aktivnosti na šoli) ter gibanje v vlogi osnovne funkcionalne rabe prostora (siceršnje življenje na šoli). Na študijskem primeru osnovnošolske stavbe Frederiksbjerg v Aarhusu na Danskem – ta je odmeven primer sodobno zasnovane šolske stavbe, ki spodbuja gibanje – smo prostore, elemente ter rešitve prostora in opreme v povezavi z gibanjem evidentirali in opravili kategorizacijo glede na vidik gibanja kot rabe prostora. Ugotavljali smo, s katerimi prvinami arhitekturne zasnove lahko gibanje v šoli spodbujamo.
