As a result, the industry is replacing it with substitutes that are not sufficiently regulated for safety. There are too few toxicological studies to confirm that they are safer than bisphenol A. However, due to the widespread use of bisphenol A and its substi¬tutes, they are found in the environment and in living organisms. Bisphenols are also present in thermal paper used for cash receipts and labels for food and biological samples in medical laboratories. After con¬tact, they are absorbed into the body through the skin and enter the systemic circulation in non-meta-bolised form. In this review article, we have compiled information on the occurrence of bisphenols in ther¬mal paper, their capacity for transdermal entry into the body and the potential health risks</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Uporabo bisfenola A v plastiki in termičnem papirju regulativni organi po vsem svetu vse bolj zaostrujejo, saj je potrjen motilec endokrinega sistema in vpliva na patogenezo številnih bolezni. Industrija ga posle¬dično zamenjuje z nadomestki, ki pa zakonsko niso dovolj regulirani glede varnosti. Obstaja premalo tok¬sikoloških raziskav, ki bi potrdile, da so varnejši od bisfenola A. Zaradi vsesplošne in pogoste uporabe bisfenola A in njegovih nadomestkov jih najdemo v okolju kot tudi v živih organizmih. Bisfenoli so prisotni tudi v termičnem papirju, ki ga uporabljamo v različne namene, od izdelave računov do nalepk za označe¬vanje hrane in bioloških vzorcev v medicinskih labo-ratorijih. Po stiku z njim se prisotni bisfenoli absorbi¬rajo v telo preko kože in vstopijo v sistemski obtok v aktivni, nemetabolizirani obliki.
