The importance of this issue cannot be overstressed given that large quantities of hazardous chemicals are produced, transported and utilized in Slovenia and elsewhere in the developed world. Significant changes are about to be made to curb the negative effects of chemical agents on human health and the environment. Public health plays a major role in the multidisciplinary processes aimed at increasing public awareness about these issues, as well as at offering health education and health promotion programmes, and assessing health risks. Our environment is mainly polluted with chemicals : some are known to cause immediate health harm and some are responsible for long-term health damage. Environmental experts, who are well aware of inadequate knowledge of the problem, have addressed and placed a high priority on the issue of chemical agents and chemical safety at numerous international conferences, perceiving it as a major challenge to public health</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Pojmovanje kemijske varnosti lahko opredelimo kot "preprečevanje kratkoročnih in dolgoročnih škodljivih učinkov kemikalij na zdravje človeka in okolje", Tudi zato je bila v Sloveniji sprejeta Resolucija o nacionalnem programu za kemijsko varnost (ReNPKV), ki zagotavlja pogoje za izvajanje ukrepov in dejavnosti za izboljšanje kemijske varnosti v interesu varovanja zdravja prebivalstva in kakovosti okolja. Zaradi nezadostnega znanja so strokovnjaki na številnih evropskih in svetovnih konferencah kot izziv javnemu zdravju zelo poudarjali prav problem kemikalij in kemijske varnosti</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-AEX6F5CH"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-AEX6F5CH" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-AEX6F5CH/84d78a9a-1b5b-48ab-8472-8961d7e71608/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Inštitut za varovanje zdravja RS</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-AEX6F5CH/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-AEX6F5CH" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
