The first one is statistical method, the second is based on physical principles, on metallurgical, physical and chemical properties of material used in welding. In the present article both methods will be used to elaborate a model of melting rate. Two mathematical models for submerged arc welding with twin-wire electrode with electrode negative and electrode positive resp. are presented. With reference to known world technical literature, these are probably the first models for calculating of melting rate in welding with twin-wire electrode</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Pri obločnem varjenju s taljivo elektrodo sta se uveljavila dva principa matematičnega popisa napovedi in izračuna količine pretaljenega dodajnega materiala. Prva je statistična metoda, druga pa temelji na fizikalnih zakonitostih, na metalurških, fizikalnih in kamičnih lastnostih materialov, uporabljenih pri varjenju. V tem članku bosta pri izdelavi modela talilnega učinka uporabljeni obe metodi.V članku sta prikazana matematična modela za varjenje z dvojno žično elektrodo pod praškom s plus in minus polom na elektrodi. Matematična modela sta tudi praktično preizkušena.
