Po živalskih ostankih lahko sklepamo, da so uživali številne domače živali na velikih pojedinah, kar naj bi pospeševalo tekmovalnost pa tudi solidarnost. V članku raziščemo ekološke vidike 'tekmovanja s hrano'. Gostije in ceremonialno uživanje živali je bilo možno zaradi načrtovanja viškov proizvodnje in organiziranega dela in ju hkrati utrjevalo.
