Mentoring is one of the processes of social networking and it establishes social capital for the mentor, the mentee and the organisation. The effects of mentoring as positive social capital mediate between the mentoring and general goals of the organisation. Quality links provide the resources, confidence, power, commitment and influence, providing for the students the career and organisational resources, and for the organisation an insight into students' knowledge and higher education curricula. For successful practical training, which contributes to the development of the competencies of graduates and their career and professional development, it is important that the faculty cooperates with working mentors. With this objective, we conducted a survey among the working mentors at UL FGG in the academic year 2017/18. The article presents the demographic structure of working mentors who completed the survey and their opinion on practical training and mentoring. The results are presented in sections on i) the effects of practical training on students% academic work; ii) the length of practical training; (iii) the organization of practical training; iv) the cooperation of the faculty with practical training providers; v) the cooperation of the faculty with working mentors; vi) working mentors participation in the promotion of UL FGG and the professions for which the faculty educates, and vi) performing practical training abroad. The overall conclusion is that the practical training at the UL FGG is well organised, it provides improvements and should be longer"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Delovni mentor povezuje študente z resničnimi delovnimi okolji. Mentorstvo se umešča med procese socialnega mreženja in vzpostavljanja socialnega kapitala za mentoriranca, mentorja in organizacijo. Učinki mentorstva kot pozitivnega socialnega kapitala posredujejo med mentorstvom in splošnimi cilji organizacije. Kakovostne povezave zagotavljajo vire, zaupanje, moč, zavezanost in vpliv, ki za študenta na praksi omogočajo karierne in organizacijske vire, medtem ko za organizacijo omogočajo vpogled nad znanjem študentov in visokošolskim kurikulumom. Za uspešno praktično usposabljanje, ki prispeva k razvoju kompetenc diplomantov in njihovemu kariernemu in profesionalnemu razvoju, je pomembno sodelovanje fakultete z delovnimi mentorji. Zato smo na UL FGG v akademskem letu 2017/18 izpeljali anketo med delovnimi mentorji. V članku predstavljamo demografsko strukturo delovnih mentorjev, ki so izpolnili anketo, in njihovo mnenje o praktičnem usposabljanju in mentorstvu. Izsledki so predstavljeni po sklopih, in sicer o: i) učinkih praktičnega usposabljanja na študij; ii) dolžini praktičnega usposabljanja; iii) organizaciji praktičnega usposabljanja; iv) sodelovanju fakultete z organizacijami izvajalkami praktičnega usposabljanja; v) sodelovanju fakultete z delovnimi mentorji; vi) lastnem sodelovanju pri promociji UL FGG in poklicev, za katere fakulteta izobražuje, in vii) opravljanju praktičnega usposabljanja v tujini.
