In order to manage drug related problems they use electronic databases that, among other things, alert the healthcare provider of potential drug-drug interactions. Our aim was to validate Lexi-Comp database from the viewpoint of adequacy of interaction descriptions in the database. Our research included patients from the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Febrile Illnesses at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana with discovered potential interactions. Of total 25 interaction descriptions in 7 patients there were 7 classified as 'appropriate', 11 as 'inappropriate' and 5 as 'undefined', while 2 interactions could not be examined with LexiComp. Results clearly imply that electronic databases are quite an useful tool for detecting potencial drug-drug interactions, however, a thorough evaluation of clinical status of individual patient is required before intervention or final decision is carried out</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Farmacevti se pri svojem delu vedno pogosteje soočajo s pojavom polifarmakoterapije. Rezultati raziskave kažejo, daje pri izvajanju farmakoterapijskih pregledov s pomočjo podatkovnih baz sicer smiselno pridobiti podatke o potencialnih interakcijah, jih je pa potrebno kritično ovrednotiti pred končno odločitvijo o intervenciji</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-9Y6VGYDV"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-9Y6VGYDV" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-9Y6VGYDV/1d70001d-4228-4b56-8b31-47d2b2d34ce0/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Slovensko farmacevtsko društvo</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-9Y6VGYDV/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-9Y6VGYDV" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
