Characteristics such as lightness, elasticity, strength and natural appearance of material are its preferences. In architecture today the \"material of the poor\" can be used in straight and in bend forms or as a composite material. Bamboo is used for furniture, floors and facades or as a construction material. Bamboo is an organic material. It has low natural resistance and low durability due to biological degradation. Therefore it is a ready food source for a variety of degrading organisms. For its protection and increased durability there are natural, traditional and chemical methods in use.
