Izdajala ga je mestna občina v Ljubljani s sodelovanjem občin: Maribor, Celje, Ptuj, Kranj in Novo mesto. Uredniški odbor so sestavljali France Stele, Evgen Jarc, Lojze Slanovec in Dinko Puc. Krajevna uredništva pa so zastopali v Mariboru Franjo Baš, v Celju Janko Orožen in v Kranju Lojze Turk. Časnik je vseboval zgodovino posameznih mest, prepleteno s politiko, kulturo in gospodarstvom. Vse skupaj je bilo podkrepljeno z ilustracijami in prilogami.
