Meško’s priestly vocation, which had led him to consciously renounce romantic love, profoundly shapes his literary imagination - from youthful idealization to renunciation, contemplation, and mystical devotion. Prominent motifs include romantic, maternal, patriotic, and saintly love, while his depictions of fallen women are imbued with empathy, inner conflict, and a didactic function. Meško’s writing draws on biblical patterns, Tolstoy’s The Power of Darkness, Cankar’s social sensitivity, and Andersen’s symbolism. This paper illuminates his portrayal of love as a symbolic language oscillating between longing and renunciation, emotional authenticity and transcendent silence, revealing the tension between the bodily and the spiritual, between silence and speech, and between suffering and sanctity</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Prispevek tematološko in semiotično analizira preobrazbo ljubezni v pesniški, pripovedni in dramski ustvarjalnosti Franca Ksaverja Meška (1874-1964), pri čemer se ljubezen razpira kot čustveno, etično in duhovno jedro njegove poetike. Meškov duhovniški poklic, ki ga je vodil k zavestni odpovedi ljubezni do ženske, bistveno oblikuje njegovo literarno imaginacijo - od mladostne idealizacije k odpovedi, kontemplaciji in mistični predanosti. Prispevek osvetljuje ljubezen kot simbolno govorico, ki niha med hrepenenjem in odrekanjem, čustveno pristnostjo in transcendentno tišino, ter razkriva napetost med telesnim in duhovnim, molkom in govorico, trpljenjem in svetostjo</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-8NDPBFRN"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-8NDPBFRN" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-8NDPBFRN/5cccb664-b7d2-4d3b-863f-225e0424aaf9/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Mariboru, Filozofska fakulteta</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-8NDPBFRN/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-8NDPBFRN" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
