For this purpose, in the period of one year, 90 samples of water were taken directly at the optical sensors. At the same time, the temperatures and the pH values of water were measured. The microbiological parameters of water, which included the determination of the quantities of phytoplankton, zooplankton, bacteria, fungi, and organic debris have been investigated in the laboratory as well as mineralogical and chemical compositions of the sediments and their grain size distribution. The results showed that the field measured concentrations of suspended solids by optical sensors are very usable for the assessment of those quantities of suspended solids which can settle in the standing water as well as for their grain size distribution. This applies if the amount of phytoplankton and organic debris in the water is small</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">V članku je prikazana preiskava soodvisnosti med terensko merjenimi koncentracijami suspendiranih snovi v reki Dravi ob pomoči optičnih merilnikov in z laboratorijsko določenimi količinami tistega deleža suspendiranih snovi, ki se lahko v mirujoči vodi posedejo. V ta namen je bilo v obdobju enega leta neposredno ob optičnih merilnikih odvzetih 90 vzorcev vode ter istočasno izmerjene temperature in pH-vrednosti vode. V laboratoriju so bili določeni mikrobiološki parametri vode, ki so vključevali določitev količin fitoplanktona, zooplanktona, bakterij, gliv in organskega drobirja. Preiskani sta bili mineralna in kemična sestava usedlin, pri 15 vzorcih pa opravljene tudi preiskave zrnavosti. Rezultati so pokazali, da se lahko na osnovi terensko merjenih koncentracij suspendiranih snovi z optičnimi merilniki zelo dobro oceni delež zrn, ki se v mirujoči vodi posedejo, prav tako pa njihovo velikost.
