An anthropologically informed critique of Civilization, inspired by cultural relativism and post-colonial studies, is presented in the text, leading to very problematic conclusions as to what kind of messages the game conveys. The game reinforces enlightened ideals that celebrate reason and logic, presents the notion of progress as universal and unilineal, and portrays others as savages</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Sid Meier's Civilization je popkulturni artefakt, ki je dober primer za premislek o kulturnih razlikah, znanosti in ekonomiji; predstavlja nam kozmološki sistem Zahoda, ki vsaj od razsvetljenstva naprej sloni na (post-)imperialni, (post-)kolonialni in etnocentričnih političnih tradicijah. Antropološko informirana in s strani kulturnega relativizma in postkolonialnih študij navdahnjena kritika Civilizacij vodi do vprašanja problematičnega sporočila videoigre, ki utrjuje razsvetljenske ideale razuma in logike, zgoščeno vsebovane v pojmu napredka kot univerzalnega in unilinearnega procesa, medtem ko druge civilizacije portretira kot divjake</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-8KZD6XEI"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-8KZD6XEI" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-8KZD6XEI/50f2fa79-0625-40c9-9343-ccb8d1b5d343/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Fakulteta za družbene vede</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-8KZD6XEI/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-8KZD6XEI" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
