The bones and teeth of pleistocene animals were frequently found during the excavation of ore, most often cave bear, wich was very common in Slovenia. Four teeth from Jelovica, preserved in the paleontological collection of the Slovenian Museum of NaturalHistory, provide rare evidence that these animals lived in Gorenjska. The describes teeth probably belong to the species Ursus ingressus, which can be concluded from the size and morphology of the teeth"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Jelovica je bila v preteklosti eno glavnih rudišč, kjer so po kraških breznih, vrtačah in jamah iskali železovo rudo. Med kopanjem rude so pogosto naleteli na kosti in zobe pleistocenskih živali, najpogosteje jamskih medvedov. Jamski medved je v Sloveniji bil zelo pogost. Odkritje štirih zob z Jelovice, ki so shranjeni v paleontološki zbirki Prirodoslovnega muzeja Slovenije, predstavljajo redke dokaze o prebivanju te živali na Gorenjskem.
