In the article, we discuss some significant methodological shortcomings and unethical practices, such as subjectivity in assessing the quality of scientific works, publication bias, splitting publications into the smallest publishable unit (known as salami slicing), post hoc hypothesis formulation, that is, after the results are already known (referred to as HARKing), and selective reporting and data manipulation to confirm statistically significant values (known as p-hacking). We also summarize common deficiencies in statistical methods, including the neglect of covariates and inadequate sample size calculation. We emphasize the importance of transparency and data accessibility, as well as the pre-registration of research to improve scientific practices. We recommend increased collaboration with statisticians and the use of relevant guidelines for research planning and reporting. By focusing on these aspects, researchers in the fields of sport and kinesiology in Slovenia can contribute to the improvement of research quality and scientific integrity"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Znanost o športu in z njo kineziologija se srečujeta s pomembnimi metodološkimi izzivi, ki vplivajo tudi na kakovost in integriteto raziskav. V članku obravnavamo nekatere pomembne metodološke pomanjkljivosti in neetične prakse, kot so subjektivnost pri ocenjevanju kakovosti znanstvenih del, pristranskost pri objavah, drobljenje objav na najmanjšo še objavljivo enoto (angl. salami slicing), post hoc oziroma naknadno postavljanje hipotez, torej po tem, ko so rezultati že znani (angl. HARKing) ter selektivno poročanje in manipuliranje s podatki z namenom potrditve statistično značilne vrednosti (angl. p-hacking). Povzemamo tudi pogoste nepravilnosti v statističnih metodah, kot sta neupoštevanje kovariat in neustrezen izračun velikosti vzorca. Ob tem poudarjamo pomen transparentnosti in dostopnosti podatkov ter vnaprejšnje registracije raziskav za izboljšanje znanstvenih praks. Priporočamo večje sodelovanje s strokovnjaki za statistiko ter uporabo relevantnih smernic za načrtovanje raziskav in poročanje o njihovih izsledkih.
