In the discrete parts industry MRP (Manufacturing Resources Planning) systems have become the standard planning methodology. In the capital-intensive process industry linear programming and other optimization methods are more typical as approach to planning. Some contemporary planning methods are based on linking od MRP approach with different optimization models. An efficient framework for optimizations models are decision support systems which are usually implemented on personal computers"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Za planiranje in vodenje proizvodnje obstajajo različne računalniško podprte metodologije. V industrijah, ki proizvajajo izdelke z veliko različnih sestavnih delov, so se uveljavili predvsem t.i. MRP (\"Manufacturing Resources Planning\") sistemi za planiranje. V kapitalno intenzivnih procesnih industrijah pa je bolj tipičen pristop uporaba linearnega programiranja in drugih optimizacijskih metod. Sodoben razvoj gre v smeri vse večje uporabe optimizacije. Zelo zanimivi so poskusi kombiniranja sistemov tipa MRP z različnimi optimizacijskimi modeli.
