Sindrom je značilen za starejše bolnike, ki so zaradi pridobljene sekundarne koagulopatije bolj nagnjeni h krvavitvi iz angiodispla- zij kot bolniki brez aortne stenoze. Je redek vzrok pomembne krvavitve iz prebavne cevi in moramo nanj pomisliti, kadar z običajnimi diagnostičnimi postopki ne ugotovimo pogostejših vzrokov za krvavitev. Najučinkovitejše zdravljenje je zamenjava aortne zaklopke.
