Mostly, nurses are of female sex and their role also reflects the role of women in society. Mass media are conveying their version of realty to the public, and they also show how much the nurses are really valued and what their public image is like. Thesource of the data was newspaper Delo, year 2003. Data were analysed with quantitative method. The appearance of words nurse and nursing was the criterion. One of the results shows the highest frequency of their use in January, April and November"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Naloge medicinskih sester so povezane s področjem zdravja in bolezni, naloge novinarjev pa so povezane s področjem informiranja. Medicinske sestre so večinoma ženske, njihova vloga je hkrati tudi vloga žensk v družbi. Javni mediji posredujejo svojo interpretacijo realnosti, so pa tudi kazalec tega, koliko so cenjene medicinske sestre, njihovo delo in njihovo mnenje ter kakšnaje njihova javna podoba. Vir podatkov so bill članki, objavljeni v časniku Delo v letu 2003, ki so bili analizirani po kvantitativni metodi dela.Kriterij so bill pojmi, ki so se nanašali na medicinske sestre in zdravstveno nego.
