Gre za primerjavo števila izidov ene od dveh možnih vrst med dvema enako velikima skupinama, v kateri so opazovane enote razvrščene naključno. Predstavljeni postopek je primeren za primerjavo dveh različic spletne strani oziroma uporabniškega vmesnika, s čimer se pogosto soočajo razvijalci spletnih strani oziroma aplikacij (tudi v medicinski informatiki).
