In addition to informal and formal clinical observation, there are tests available for the assessment of children with sensory integration disorders. Some of them are presented more in detail, followed by a presentation of the therapeutic approach of sensorimotor integration. It includes therapeutic activities that represent a real challenge for the child, while the child learns new strategies, behaviours and movements through his/her own active participation. The therapist should observe the childs behaviour and identify his/her proposals and initiatives in the learning process</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">V prispevku predstavljamo razvoj posameznih senzornih sistemov, procese zaznavanja, senzorne integracije in modulacije ter motnje v procesu senzorne integracije. Za ocenjevanje otrok z motnjami senzorne integracije se v svetu poleg formalnega in neformalnega kliničnega opazovanja uporabljajo različni testi. Nekaj jih natančno predstavljamo, nato pa podrobneje še terapevtski pristop senzomotorične integracije. Ta vključuje terapevtske aktivnosti, ki so za otroka pravi izziv, ob čemer se uči novih strategij vedenja in gibanja prek lastnega aktivnega sodelovanja.
