The Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS) provides insights into a patient's subjective experience of pain and is useful in clinical practice as a measure of a patient's therapeutic progress regarding pain. In this study, we assessed the psychometric characteristics of the Slovenian version of the PCS scale. Methods: The questionnaire was translated into Slovenian using the standard method and administered to 1756 patients who were evaluated at the Outpatient service for chronic non-malignant pain, University Rehabilitation Institute, Republic of Slovenia, between February 2019 and April 2022. We estimated the reliability and discriminative statistics of items and subscales. To assess the goodness of fit of confirmatory factor analysis models, we used the ?2 test as a measure of statistical fit and five indices as practical fit measures: CFI, TLI, GFI, RMSEA with a 90% confidence interval (CI), and SRMR. Results: Cronbach's alpha coefficient for all 13 items was 0.93, with values of 0.82 for the first factor, 0.78 for the second, and 0.89 for the third. The discriminative index was greater than 0.60 for all items, except for the eighth (0.42). Adequate model fit was confirmed by CFI (0.98), TLI (0.97), GFI (0.99), and RMSEA (0.062; 90% CI). Inadequate model fit was indicated by the statistically significant ?2 value and the SRMR value (0.12). Conclusions: The measurement characteristics of the Slovenian version of the questionnaire are appropriate and comparable to the characteristics of the original: the questionnaire is highly internally reliable, has adequate item discriminative power, and exhibits the anticipated three-factor structure"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Izhodišča: Katastrofiziranje bolečine je med pomembnejšimi psihološkimi konstrukti, ki opredeljujejo doživljanje bolečine, dekatastrofizacija pa predstavlja enega prvih terapevtskih ciljev, ki pacientom omogoča učinkovitejše spoprijemanje z njihovo boleznijo. Vprašalnik Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS) nam daje vpogled v pacientovo subjektivno doživljanje bolečine in je kot takšen uporaben v klinični praksi kot mera pacientovega terapevtskega napredka v odnosu do bolečine. V raziskavi smo ocenili psihometrične lastnosti slovenske različice vprašalnika PCS. Metode: Vprašalnik smo po standardni metodi prevedli v slovenščino in ga uporabili pri 1.756 pacientih, ki so bili med februarjem 2019 in aprilom 2022 pregledani v Ambulanti za rehabilitacijo oseb s kronično nerakavo bolečino na Univerzitetnem rehabilitacijskem inštitutu Republike Slovenije - Soča. Ocenili smo zanesljivost in diskriminativnost postavk ter podlestvic. Za določanje ustreznosti prileganja modelov smo pri potrditveni faktorski analizi uporabili test ?2 kot mero statističnega prileganja in pet indeksov kot mere praktičnega prileganja modelu: CFI, TLI, GFI, RMSEA z 90 % intervalom zaupanja (IZ) in SRMR. Rezultati: Cronbachov koeficient ? je za vseh 13 postavk znašal 0,93, od tega za prvi faktor 0,82, za drugi 0,78 in za tretji 0,89. Indeks diskriminativnosti je bil pri vseh postavkah, razen pri osmi (0,42), večji od 0,60. Ustrezno prilagajanje modelu so potrdili indeksi CFI (0,98), TLI (0,97) GFI (0,99) in RMSEA (0,062; 90 % IZ). Neustrezno prilagajanje modelu sta pokazali statistično značilna vrednost ?2 in vrednost SRMR (0,12). Zaključki: Merske značilnosti slovenske različice vprašalnika so ustrezne in so primerljive z značilnostmi izvirnika: vprašalnik je visoko notranje zanesljiv, ima ustrezno diskriminativnost postavk in predvideno trifaktorsko strukturo"}],"edm:type":"TEXT","dc:type":[{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"znanstveno časopisje"},{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"journals"},{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785"}]},"ore:Aggregation":{"@rdf:about":"http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-7DHH4ZMC","edm:aggregatedCHO":{"@rdf:resource":"URN:NBN:SI:doc-7DHH4ZMC"},"edm:isShownBy":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-7DHH4ZMC/6c4fa6d3-ce1e-4278-9497-24abffe1bac7/PDF"},"edm:rights":{"@rdf:resource":"http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"},"edm:provider":"Slovenian National E-content Aggregator","edm:intermediateProvider":{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"National and University Library of Slovenia"},"edm:dataProvider":{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Univerzitetni rehabilitacijski inštitut RS – Soča"},"edm:object":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-7DHH4ZMC/maxi/edm"},"edm:isShownAt":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-7DHH4ZMC"}}}}
