The authors discovered some problems caused by disabilities and learning or behavioral troubles. This article reviews some possibilities of approaching the idea of peer tolerance through visual art educational practice. This practice - with its specific orientation - offers a fruitful field of educational influences, connected with tolerance, equality and acceptance. Verbal, social, and cultural differences do not (or better: must not) play an important part in visual art educational practice. What counts is sensitiveness and the ability of experiencing art. As mentioned above, however, there are verbal, social and cultural differences that can make an impact on the results. Any kind of differences (mental, physical, social, cultural) can be used as a new positive quality in visual art educational practice. With them we can create conditions for the emancipation of "different" children</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">V uvodu se avtorji dotaknejo problema drugačnosti med otroki, vključenimi v institucionalne oblike vzgoje in izobraževanja. Le-ta se kaže pri otrocih s posebnimi potrebami, otrocih z učnimi in vedenjskimi težavami, otrocih iz različnih kulturnih, socialnih okolij. Pri tem izpostavijo aktualno problematiko otrok s posebnimi potrebami, vključenih v predšolske in osnovnošolske oblike vzgoje in izobraževanja na širšem območju Maribora, in jo osvetlijo z vidika sodobnih integracijskih in inkluzivnih procesov. V nadaljevanju nakazujejo nekatere možnosti približevanja drugačnosti skozi likovnovzgojno delo. Le-to s svojo specifično naravnanostjo nudi široko polje možnosti vzgojnih vplivov, ki zadevajo tolerantnost, enakopravnost, sprejemanje drugačnosti in emancipacijo. Pri likovnovzgojnem delu so za razliko od jezikovnih, socialnih, materialnih in drugih različnosti pomembnejše čustvene in doživljajske sposobnosti. Celo več, socialne, materialne in kulturne razlike nastopajo pri likovni vzgoji kot dejavniki, ki omogočajo enakovredne rezultate.
