An empirical analysis is based on panel data for the Slovenian manufacturing industry for the period 1994-2000, and it takes into consideration problems connected with the use of panel data. The results confirm the regional nature of horizontal spillover effects, but at they indicate the crowdin-out effect at the national level. The size of the foreign affiliate has an important effect on the scope of spillover effects bacause small and medium.sized foreign affiliates cooperate with local companies on a larger scale than the big ones"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Tematika vpliva tujih neposrednih investicij (TNI) na produktivnost podjetij je v članku obravnavana na primeru slovenske predelovalne dejavnosti in to predvsem z vidikov, ki za Slovenijo še niso bili podrobno obravnavani. Empirična analiza temelji na panelnih podatkih za podjetja v slovenski predelovalni dejavnosti za obdobje 1994-2000 in upošteva problematiko, povezano z uporabo panelnih podatkov. Rezultati potrjujejo regionalno naravo horizontalnih učinkov prelivanja (angl. spillover effects), hkrati pa nakazujejo na določeno raven izrinjanja na nacionalni ravni.
