A detailed analysis of the growing stock, increment and forest treespecies composition has been made on the basis of information which were collected for forest management plans for the forest management units Lehen and Ribnica on Pohorje and on the basis of forest information system data. Thereference research site Smolarjevo has been selected for the purpose of monitoring selection forest development. On this research site we measured theBHD structure, estimated the vitality of trees and analysed the young growth. Forests at Lehen are an example of large forest property forests with a selection structure of the stands. The average growing stock is medium high;the most common tree species are silver fir and Norway spruce. There is no problem with the process of regeneration. In further development, the authors suggest the use of selection management"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V prispevku je opisan razvoj prebiralnih gozdov v Lehnu na Pohorju. V njih smoizločili referenčni objekt Smolarjevo za študij strukture in razvoja prebiralnega gozda na rastišču jelovij s praprotmi. V njem smo izmerili debelinsko strukturo, ocenili vitalnost drevja in analizirali pomladek. Lesna zaloga sestojev presega 440 m3/ha, delež debelega drevja (dO50 cm) je 50% celotne zaloge, v njej prevladujeta jelka (55) in smreka (43%), listavci so redki (2%). Pomlajevanje poteka nemoteno, v pomladku se najbolje uveljavlja jelka. Sedanja dobra vitalnost jelke obeta njeno ohranjanje v prihodnosti.
