One of the more important questions posed by many feminist linguists during the Second Wave Feminism was how the eradication of lin-guistic sexism could affect the situation of men and women in society. Many of the opponents of linguistic changes and imposing nonsexist alternatives did not agree with the premise of the interconnection of society and language, and pro-duced numerous arguments. The aim of the article is to present the typical ar-guments against linguistic changes that appeared in foreign (English-speaking) research in the 1970s, and find parallels with the recent arguments of Slovenian linguists. The aim of the article, as well as a long-term interest, is to better un-derstand the beliefs of the opponents of linguistic changes by identifying and knowing their arguments. Cilj prispevka, pa tudi dolgoročni interes, je bolje razumeti razmišljanje nasprotnikov in nasprotnic jezikovnih sprememb na podlagi poznavanja njihovih argumentov, kar vidiva kot enega od pristopov k (morebitnemu) skupnemu sodelovanju v zvezi s tovrstnimi vprašanji v prihodnje</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-5SJ60U89"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-5SJ60U89" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-5SJ60U89/08bceda4-0917-4504-8e36-ed4aa204e733/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Znanstvena založba Filozofske fakultete</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-5SJ60U89/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-5SJ60U89" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
