Avtor v tem članku ocenjuje že objavljene podatke o starostnih in razvojnih parametrih nekaterih ribjih vrst v vzhodnem Jadranu. Luske in otoliti so bila glavna kalcificirana tkiva, primerna za ugotavljanje starosti, medtem ko plavuti skorajda niso bile uporabljene. Starost in rast sta bili ugotovljeni za 17 ribjih vrst, kar je 14% od stodvajsetih komercialno zanimivih vrst.
