The use of natural products as sources of new drugs reached its peak in 1970-1980 in the so-called ''golden era of antibiotics''. Despite some tremendous successes, in the last decades, interest in the use of natural compounds for drug design has declined. One of the possible explanations for this is the introduction of new technologies in the drug discovery process, such as combinatorial chemistry and high-throughput screening, which mostly rely on synthetic chemical libraries. Despite huge expectations, these new technologies did not have the desired success. Because of this, in the last years, there is a renewed interest in natural products, which could enrich the chemical diversity of the existing chemical libraries. A further reason for the renewed interest in natural compounds is the development of new technologies that enable the analysis and screening of more complex natural samples"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Spojine, izolirane iz rastlin, živali in mikrobov, so za zdravljenje ljudi v uporabi že od pradavnine. Uporaba naravnih produktov pri razvoju novih učinkovin je dosegla vrh v letih 1970%1980, v t. i. zlati dobi antibiotikov. Kljub nekaterim velikim uspehom so pred nekaj desetletji opazili trend upadanja vpliva naravnih spojin na razvoj novih učinkovin. Za to obstaja več razlogov, med katerimi je zelo pomembna uveljavitev nekaterih novejših tehnologij za odkrivanje učinkovin, kamor sodita kombinatorna kemija in rešetanje visoke zmogljivosti, ki večinoma temeljita na sinteznih kemijskih knjižnicah. Kljub velikim pričakovanjem pa omenjeni pristopi niso prinesli želenih rezultatov, zaradi česar se je v zadnjem obdobju ponovno obudilo zanimanje za naravne spojine, s katerimi bi lahko obogatili raznolikost obstoječih kemijskih knjižnic. Za obujeno zanimanje za naravne spojine je odgovoren tudi razvoj novih tehnologij, ki omogočajo hitrejšo analizo in vrednotenje tudi kompleksnejših naravnih vzorcev"}],"edm:type":"TEXT","dc:type":[{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"znanstveno časopisje"},{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"journals"},{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785"}]},"ore:Aggregation":{"@rdf:about":"http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-5EH3L0PB","edm:aggregatedCHO":{"@rdf:resource":"URN:NBN:SI:doc-5EH3L0PB"},"edm:isShownBy":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-5EH3L0PB/788a43b6-3e0e-40e9-a7b4-2211480c1f9d/PDF"},"edm:rights":{"@rdf:resource":"http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"},"edm:provider":"Slovenian National E-content Aggregator","edm:intermediateProvider":{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"National and University Library of Slovenia"},"edm:dataProvider":{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Slovensko farmacevtsko društvo"},"edm:object":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-5EH3L0PB/maxi/edm"},"edm:isShownAt":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-5EH3L0PB"}}}}
