The primary objective is to identify similarities and differences in each tradition’s methodological approaches and objects of analysis. The study examines how each framework conceptualizes the medium, the types of discourse phenomena addressed, and the nature of the corpora used. In addition to mapping and systematizing over a decade of research – much of which remains under-recognized or untranslated across academic contexts – the article also aims to outline implications for future investigations"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Pričujoči članek prinaša bibliografski pregled in primerjalno analizo znanstvene produkcije o digitalnem diskurzu na WhatsAppu znotraj dveh jezikoslovnih tradicij: španske in nemške. Osrednji cilj študije je identificirati podobnosti in razlike v teorijah, metodoloških pristopih in predmetih raziskave. Primerjalna analiza se osredotoči na različne vidike, kot so različnih načini konceptualizacije in opredelitve platforme, predmetov raziskave in baze podatkov. El ob-jetivo principal de la revisión es identificar similitudes y diferencias en las teorías, enfoques metodológicos y objetos de análisis desarrollados. Se examinan aspectos como el tratamiento de las distintas formas de conceptualizar el medio o los objetos de análisis y sus bases de datos.
