The reflection began with questions connected with the origin and fate of the parish church of St. John the Baptist and St. Thomas in Maribor. In Maribor and its surroundings many monasteries from Carinthia and Styria as well as some dioceses also had their own administrative and economic courts. An overview of the number and nature of the various ecclesiastical institutions shows that they had a great interest in the town and its surroundings and thus undoubtedly had a great influence on life in the townAvtor v drugem delu študije o Mariboru v 13. stoletju obravnava cerkvene institucije, ki so v tem stoletju nastale in/ali delovale v mestu. V uvodu najprej obdela vprašanje nastanka ter usodo župnijske cerkve sv. Janeza Krstnika in sv. Tomaža v Mariboru. V mestu in okolici so imeli svoje upravne in gospodarske dvore tudi mnogi samostani tako iz koroškega kot štajerskega prostora kot tudi nekatere škofije.
