In the first triad the differences between boys and girls are not yet noticed, as all usually like to come to the library. Both, boys and girls, have a lot of encouragement in school and at home. However, in the second triad the difference between boys and girls is noticeable. Boys read less, use easier materials, are attracted to different content than girls. Also the number of boys, who participate in the home reading contest, is noticeably smaller. For these reasons, the school librarians in the Lower Savinja valley region were interested to find out the reading habits and attitudes to readingof boys in the second triad of their schools. The goal was to provide them with adequate library materials. We use the results of the survey among the boys and librarians, and the findings in the literature to form suggestions of appropriate activities to enhance boys' reading motivation and improve their reading habits"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Tudi šolski knjižničarji opažamo, da učenci na splošno manj berejo. V prvem triletju razlik v branju med fanti in dekleti še ne zaznamo, saj vsi praviloma radi obiskujejo knjižnico. Tako fantje kot dekleta dobivajo veliko spodbud v šolskem in domačem okolju. V drugem triletju pa je razlika med fanti in dekleti zelo opazna. Fantje berejo manj, segajo po manj zahtevnem gradivu, privlačijo jih drugačne vsebine kot dekleta. Upade tudi število fantov, ki sodelujejo pri branju za bralno značko. Zato smo šolske knjižničarke Spodnje Savinjske doline na svojih osnovnih šolah želele raziskati, kakšne so bralne navade in stališča fantov drugega triletja do branja, da bi jim v šolskih knjižnicah zagotovili primerno gradivo.
