This article analyzes the positive effects of the functioning of mechanisms and instruments of the UN's collective security system in resolving the crisis in Libya. This article confirms that the collective security system implemented within the UN, and supplemented by a mechanism of responsibility to protect, is still an adequate security system for the international community to ensure international peace and security. However, new emphasis should be placed on post-conflict peace-building mechanisms"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V današnjem varnostnem okolju so znotrajdržavni konflikti poglavitna grožnja mednarodnemu miru in varnosti ter obstoječemu sistemu kolektivne varnosti, ki se zagotavlja v okviru Organizacije združenih narodov. V članku bodo analizirani želeni učinki delovanja mehanizmov in instrumentov sistema kolektivne varnosti Organizacije združenih narodov (OZN) pri reševanju krize v Libiji. Članek podaja pozitiven odgovor na raziskovalno vprašanje, ali je sistem kolektivne varnosti, ki se danes v okviru OZN uresničuje dopolnjen z mehanizmom odgovornost zaščititi, še vedno ustrezen varnostni sistem mednarodne skupnosti za zagotavljanje mednarodnega miru in varnosti.
