Dementia is commonly associated with behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia, which signify a worse prognosis, challenges in caring for these patients and a worse quality of life. Due to the resistance of behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia to pharmacological treatment, there is an increased interest in their non-pharmacological management, including different methods of non-invasive brain sti mulation. These have effect by modulating the synaptic activity of the neurons and cortical excitability with electric current or magnetic pulses. These methods are safe with mild and transient side effects. The efficacy and safety of non-invasive brain stimulation in the treatment of behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia were confirmed in several clinical studies, with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation being the most successful, according to studies published so far. In this article, the review of literature and results of these studies are presented</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Demenca zaradi visoke prevalence predstavlja velik javnozdravstveni problem, zaradi staranja prebivalstva pa se v naslednjih desetletjih pričakuje še dodaten porast števila bolnikov. V članku je predstavljen pregled literature z izsledki omenjenih kliničnih raziskav</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-44ZAXWQU"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-44ZAXWQU" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-44ZAXWQU/1a6b0bc0-8a37-4150-a262-a966eeb2a5d3/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Društvo Medicinski razgledi</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-44ZAXWQU/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-44ZAXWQU" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
