Trained in European Ethnology (Copenhagen) and Anthropology (UCL), she conducted fieldwork amongst lacemakers in rural Central Slovakia for her PhD, and later amongst lacemakers in Koniaków in Southern Poland. Social and material relationships in fieldwork relationships led her to consider the economic, historical, and political embeddedness of craft labour. She writes mostly about gender, labour, ethics and morality, informal economy, and entrepreneurialism through the lens of vernacular crafts in Slovakia and Poland, where she has carried out long-term fieldwork since 2004. The motivation for the interview was her participation at last year’s international symposium Hands-on Ethnographies: Production and Meaning of (Contemporary) Handicrafts at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana (organised by the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology), where she presented her recent research on the process of commoning, the role of gender, and the political economy of the production and sale of lace in the village of Koniaków, Poland</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-41NN4DKT"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-41NN4DKT" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-41NN4DKT/9cabb166-aff4-49d1-b30f-788648b43ca8/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Filozofska fakulteta (Oddelek za etnologijo in kulturno antropologijo)</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-41NN4DKT/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-41NN4DKT" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
