Adequate postoperative rehabilitation is essential in maintaining stability. While the surgery reenables the function of static stabilizers, rehabilitation aims to enhance the dynamic muscular and proprioceptive restraints to shoulder instability. Methods: The PubMed and ScienceDirect databases were searched for the articles published after year 2000 using the search string "shoulder instability rehabilitation". Results: 383 articles were found in PubMed and 65 articles in ScienceDirect. However, the majority were written on the subject of different surgical procedures for shoulder instability. Only 4 articles were dealing with postoperative rehabilitation.
