Effective corporate governance is also important for the entire national economy as it has a positive effect on confidence, which is essential for a developed market economy. This stimulates economic growth as the cost of capital is lower and companies use their resources more efficiently. Corporate governance of insurance undertakings focuses on how such undertakings are governed, managed and supervised. Taking into account the choice of the corporate governance system in the insurance sector, the subject of the research assignment is selected markets of Southeast Europe, namely Croatia, Serbia, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Montenegro. Učinkovito korporativno upravljanje je pomembno tudi za celotno nacionalno gospodarstvo, saj pozitivno vpliva na zaupanje, ki je nujno za razvito tržno gospodarstvo. Korporativno upravljanje zavarovalnic se osredotoča na to, kako so zavarovalnice vodene, upravljane in nadzorovane. V članku so analizirani sistemi korporativnega upravljanja v zavarovalniškem sektorju na trgih jugovzhodne Evrope, in sicer na Hrvaškem, v Srbiji, Federaciji BiH, Severni Makedoniji in Črni gori.
