Zaenkrat je to edinstven primer v prazgodovinskem zapisu Balkana in Anatolije. V teku so tipološke in petrološke raziskave kamnitih sekir iz delavnic in raaziskave njihove razprostranjenosti. Raziskave zaenkrat kažejo, da so bile vse sekire izdelane iz iste kamnine - metabazita. površinska nahajališča te kamnine ležijo na zahodnem delu hriba Ganos. Tudi v zgodnjeneolitski naselbini Hoca Çeşme so bile kamnite sekire izdelane iz enake kamnine.
