It is present on five separate sub-areas of plains with a typical nardetum community (Homogyno alpinae-Nardetum) rich with blueberries and the Common Heather. This plant in addition to the European Goldenrod is also the most important source of nectar for adults. The Velika Kopa and Volovska planja stand out in terms of the habitat quality and butterfly density as majority of specimens were observed there during 2012 transect walks. Key factors causing decline of the species is habitat loss (reforestation, tourism) and climate change. The main targets for conservation of the species are maintenance of the traditional use of the Pohorje plains (patchy mowing, light grazing) and prevention of further spread of tourism infrastructure"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Razširjenost borovničevega mnogooka (Plebejus optilete) je v Sloveniji omejenana ovršne dele zahodne polovice Pohorja. Pojavlja se na petih ločenih pod območjih pohorskih planj z značilno združbo volkovja (Homogyno alpinae-Nardetum) bogatega z borovničevjem in jesensko vreso. Ta poleg zlate rozge predstavlja tudi najpomembnejši vir nektarja odraslih osebkov. Po kvaliteti življenjskega prostora in pogostosti odraslih osebkov izstopata pod območji Velika Kopa in Volovska planja, kjer je bila na transektih v letu 2012 opažena velika večina vseh osebkov. Ključna dejavnika ogrožanja sta izguba življenjskega prostora (zaraščanje, turizem) in klimatske spremembe.
