Due to insufficient data on their occurrence and risks, we developed and validated an ultra-sensitive analytical method for quantitative determination of the occurrence of 25 different EDs. With it, we analyzed 36 wastewater and 33 river water samples and successfully quantified 16 EDs, with the highest concentrations of bisphenols (BPs) S, A and F, estriol and chlormadinone, and with concentrations above safe levels for estradiol and ethinyl estradiol. We determined that wastewater treatment plants are generally successful in the removal of most EDs but are currently overburdened. The presence of BPA, estradiol, BPS and estrone represents high risk in the majority, and the presence of synthetic steroids in a tenth of the river water samples, with the safe limits exceeded by two orders of magnitude in several samples</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Hormoni in nekatere zdravilne učinkovine v okolju delujejo kot kemični motilci endokrinega sistema (KMES), ki imajo lahko resne učinke na vodne organizme in človeka. Zaradi pomanjkljivih podatkov o njihovi pojavnosti in tveganjih smo razvili in validirali ultra občutljivo analizno metodo za kvantitativno določanje prisotnosti 25 različnih KMES. Prisotnost BPA, estradiola, BPS in estrona predstavlja veliko tveganje v večini, prisotnost sinteznih steroidov pa v desetini vzorcev rečnih vod, pri čemer so varne meje v več vzorcih presežene tudi za dva velikostna razreda</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-3D1XIN3F"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-3D1XIN3F" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-3D1XIN3F/aba6dbf0-1184-47c2-b20a-8fa24eec0883/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Slovensko farmacevtsko društvo</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-3D1XIN3F/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-3D1XIN3F" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
