I explain why the construction of cell membrane enables the existence of these potentials. I explain how a chemical potential helps describe ion transport across cell membrane. I describe cell membrane in stationary conditions. Under these conditions electrical and chemical potential sum to zero and one can find the equation for electrical potential. At the end I mention few diseases connected with structural changes in cell membranes</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Najprej uvedem električni in kemijski potencial, ki se vzpostavita preko membrane vsake živalske celice. Pojasnim, zakaj celična membrana omogoča nastanek omenjenih potencialov. Razložim, kako se lahko s pomočjo kemijskega potenciala opiše razmere na celični membrani v stacionarnem stanju. Vsota kemijskega in električnega potenciala je v tem primeru enaka nič, od koder slednjega tudi izračunam.
