Results of unit root tests indicate that the eight time series of the real exchange rates of the koruna and the tolar are integrated of order one. Though some cointegration was found among the nominal exchange rates and selected consumer price indices, the presented results do not support the theory of purchasing power parity in any of the two observed economiesV tem prispevku preverjamo teorijo paritete kupne moči na Češkem in v Sloveniji v primerjavi z Avstrijo, Nemčijo, Francijo in Italijo na osnovi podatkov od januarja 1992 do decembra 2001. Rezultati testov enotnega korena so pokazali, da je vseh osem časovnih vrst realnega deviznega tečaja krone in tolarja integriranih prvega reda.
