The process of forging is, by nature, a highly nonlinear and transient process, typically characterized by large 3-D material deformation and continuosly changing boundary condition. In most cases the initial billet shape is relatively simple, but final shape of the end product is often geometrically complex, to the extent that it is commonly achieved by employing multiple forming stages. The results of an analysis is deformed shape, temperature, pressure, effective plastic strain, effective stress, etcV prispevku je obravnavano tridimenzionalno računalniško simuliranje procesa kovanja z računalniškim programom MSC/SuperForge. Kovanje je izrazit proces tridimenzionalne deformacije, med katerim se stalno spreminjajo robni pogoji. Začetna oblika je v večini primerov preprosta, končna oblika pa je lahko zelo zahtevna in se doseže s preoblikovanjem v več stopnjah.
