However, the area of dialects still leads an extremely shadowy existence in GFL teaching. The question of the placement of these non-standardized language varieties in GFL lessons still involves a great deal of uncertainty, which is even more true for LSP teaching. This is surprising in view of global mobility, which quickly turns German as a foreign language into German as a second language (GSL) for individual learners, considering the growing importance of dialects with written use in social media and the increasing position of English as a lingua franca in the professional field, which assigns new roles to German in these contexts. The article discusses the meaningfulness of building up a receptive variety competence, contextualized goals, and possibilities for their promotion in courses in GFL for specific purposes. An example of where this can be strongly advocated is German for busi-ness and career in Slovenia, which serves as a starting point for reflection. Accordingly, the focus of dialect analysis is on the Bavarian-Austrian variety"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Die Plurizentrik der deutschen Sprache mit den verschiedenen nationalen Standards hat in Forschung und Unterricht zu Deutsch als Fremdsprache (DaF) zumindest zögerlich und oberflächlich – vor allem in landeskundlichen Ansätzen – Eingang gefunden. Doch der Bereich Dialekte führt nach wie vor ein extremes Schattendasein im DaF-Unterricht. Die Frage der Platzierung dieser nichtstandardisierten Sprachvarietäten im DaF-Unterricht bringt immer noch eine große Verunsicherung mit sich, was für den Fachsprachenunterricht noch verstärkt zutrifft. Dies verwundert angesichts der globalen Mobili-tät, welche DaF für einzelne Lernende schnell zu Deutsch als Zweitsprache (DaZ) werden lässt, ange-sichts der mit der schriftlichen Verwendung in sozialen Medien zunehmenden Bedeutung der Dialekte sowie der immer stärkeren Position der lingua franca Englisch im professionellen Bereich, welche der Sprache Deutsch in diesen Zusammenhängen neue Rollen zuordnet. Die Sinnhaftigkeit eines Aufbaus einer rezeptiven Varietätenkompetenz, die kontextualisierten Ziele sowie Möglichkeiten zu deren För-derungen im fachsprachlichen DaF-Unterricht werden im Beitrag diskutiert. Ein Beispiel, bei dem ent-schlossen dafür plädiert werden kann, ist der Bereich „Deutsch für Wirtschaft und Beruf“ in Slowenien, der als Ausgangspunkt der Reflexion dient.
