The paper addresses the right to request flexible working arrangements, as regulated in Directive (EU) 2019/1158 on work-life balance for parents and carers. In this respect, the paper defines the right to request flexible working arrangements, as set out in the Directive, and its limitations, which may have a significant impact on the (non-)exercise of this right in practice, have been defined. In the following, an analysis of the current Slovenian regulation in the light of the requirements of the Directive is made. In doing so, the paper answers the question whether the current legislation already meets the requirements of the Directive, where there are possible shortcomings and opportunities for improvement. It also mentions the regulation of some other countries, which can serve as an example of good practice in the further regulation at the national level and points out the positive and the negative aspects of flexible working arrangements as an instrument to facilitate work-life balance</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Prožne ureditve dela so ene najpomembnejših ukrepov za lažje usklajevanje poklicnega in zasebnega življenja, kar je prepoznano tudi na ravni EU.
