Using the description method, it presents the workflow and description of classroom interaction in the independent learning method to achieve operational objectives in the geography plan, which envisages reasoning about the natural geographical features of Australia and the development of digital competencies in pupils.The paper is intended for teachers in primary or secondary school as an example of developing digital competencies of placing and creating digital content (competency 3.2 according to DigComp). We observed pupils using the Padlet digital tool and ClimateCharts.net in class, evaluated the lessons, and conducted an unstructured interview with pupils afterward. The results show that pupils in Grade 8 can achieve the learning objective of reasoning about the natural geographical features of Australia by using existing and creating their own digital content. Before that, pupils must develop digital competencies in the field of information and data literacy (competency 1 according to DigComp). We conclude that the use of the Padlet application and the ClimateCharts.net website makes sense in geography lessons, as it increases pupils’ motivation to achieve the set learning goal if pupils achieve it and develop the DigComp digital competence 3.2"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Prispevek opredeljuje uporabo aplikacije Padlet in spletišča ClimateCharts.net pri pouku geografije v 8. razredu. Z metodo deskripcije predstavlja potek dela in opis interakcij v razredu pri učni metodi samostojnega učenja za doseganje operativnih ciljev učnega načrta za geografijo, ki predvidevajo sklepanje o naravnogeografskih značilnostih Avstralije in razvoj digitalnih kompetenc pri učencih. Prispevek je namenjen učiteljem v osnovni ali srednji šoli kot primer za razvijanje digitalne kompetence umeščanja in poustvarjanja digitalnih vsebin (3.2 po DigComp). Opazovali smo učence med uporabo digitalnih orodij Padlet in ClimateCharts.net pri pouku, evalvirali učne ure in opravili nestrukturiran intervju z učenci po izvedbi dejavnosti. Rezultati kažejo, da so učenci v 8. razredu sposobni doseči učni cilj sklepanja o naravnogeografskih značilnostih Avstralije z uporabo že obstoječih in z oblikovanem lastnih digitalnih vsebin. Pred tem morajo razviti digitalne kompetence s področja informacijske in podatkovne pismenosti (1 po DigComp).
