Diagnostic criteria for autoimmune pancreatitis include a combination of imaging techniques, laboratory tests, histopathology, involvement of other organs, and response to corticosteroid treatment. Endoscopic ultrasound-guided needle biopsy of the pancreas is becoming increasingly important in the diagnosis of autoimmune pancreatitis because it allows for a complete examination of the upper gastrointestinal system and exclusion of malignant tumours. Treatment with corticosteroids should be initiated only when the diagnosis is clear, and histologically confirmed and after exclusion of adenocarcinoma"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Avtoimunski pankreatitis je nedavno odkrita redka oblika pankreatitisa in predstavlja eno od bolezni trebušne slinavke, ki jo je mogoče zdraviti z zdravili. Diagnostična priporočila za avtoimunski pankreatitis vključujejo slikovne preiskave, laboratorijske teste in histopatološki pregled v povezavi z odkrivanjem pridruženih bolezenskih stanj in avtoimunskih bolezni ter proučevanjem odziva na zdravljenje s kortikosteroidi. Pri diagnosticiranju avtoimunskega pankreatitisa je vse pomembnejša z endoskopskim ultrazvokom vodena igelna biopsija trebušne slinavke, saj omogoči celoten pregled zgornjega gastrointestinalnega sistema in izključevanje malignih tumorjev.
