A minority is a social group whose number has decreased over the decades due to assimilation. This was triggered, on the one hand, by targeted assimilation measures and, on the other hand, by a number of factors in the social environment. We study how and to what extent the characteristics of spatial structures and people's lifestyles in postmodern society can affect members of the minorityPrispevek prikazuje sodobne prostorske in socialne procese na avstrijskem Koroškem in analizira položaj slovenske manjšine v pogojih postmodernega družbenega stadija. Manjšina je družbeni kolektiv, ki se je skozi desetletja številčno zmanjševal zaradi asimilacije. To so sprožali tako namerni asimilacijski ukrepi na eni ter vrsta dejavnikov v družbenem okolju na drugi strani.
