Autonomy and intimacy were measured with Family-of-Origin Scale (FOS; Hovestadt, Anderson, Piercy, Cochran, & Fine, 1985). 261 participants (194 girls and 67 boys) completed the FOS, average age was 25 years (SD=7). Among all participants 18% were sexually abused (N=46), approximately every fifth (5.4) girl and every seventh (6.7) boy. There were 78% girls and 22% boys among sexually abused participants. Families of sexually abused participants in comparison with the families of sexually non-abused showed many statistically significant differences in elements of autonomy (clarity of expressing emotions, responsibility, respect for others, openness to others, and acceptance of separation and loss) and intimacy (encouraging expression of a range of feelings, creating a warm atmosphere in the home, dealing with conflict resolution without undue stress, promoting empathy among family members, trust and developing trust). In general the sexually abused group had a statistically significantly lower level of autonomy and intimacy in comparison with sexually non-abused group"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V raziskavi smo ugotavljali, kakšna je stopnja dveh dejavnikov tveganja zdrave funkcionalne družine, in sicer avtonomije in intimnosti med posamezniki, ki so bili spolno zlorabljeni, in tistimi, ki niso bili spolno zlorabljeni. Avtonomijo in intimnost smo merili z lestvico Family-of-Origin Scale (FOS) avtorjev Hovestadt-a, Anderson-a, Piercy-a, Cochran-a in Fine-ja (1985). Vprašalnik je izpolnilo 261 oseb (M=25 let, SD=7), od tega 194 deklet in 67 fantov. Med udeleženci je bilo 18% spolno zlorabljenih (N=46), glede na spol približno vsako peto dekle (5,4) in vsak sedmi fant (6,7). Med vsemi spolno zlorabljenimi udeleženci v raziskavi je bilo 78 % deklet in 22 % fantov. Družine spolno zlorabljenih udeležencev v primerjavi z družinami nikoli spolno zlorabljenih kažejo na mnoge statistično pomembne razlike v elementih avtonomije (v jasnosti izražanja čustev, odgovornosti, medsebojnem spoštovanju, odprtosti med člani družine ter soočanju z izgubami in ločitvami) in v elementih intimnosti (v spodbujanju izražanja čustev, ustvarjanju prijetnega družinskega vzdušja, spoprijemanju s konflikti s čim manj stresa, sočutju med člani družine ter zaupanju in razvijanju zaupanja).
