Carniola was getting prepared for foresting the Karst and founded the central forest tree nursery as early as in 1874, first below Rožnik in Ljubljana, from where it moved to GradiščePrispevek predstavlja začetne ideje za ponovno pogozditev Krasa od prvih najav dunajske vlade, da se bo tega lotila (1850), do javne razprave, kako to urediti (1850-1851), zborovanja Avstrijskega društva na Krasu in v Trstu, od 4. do 6. septembra 1865 do sprejema zakona o pogozdovanju Krasa v Vojvodini Kranjski leta 1885 (l. 1881 za Trst in okolico; l. 1883 za Goriško in Gradiško; l. 1886 za Istro).
