They combine an inorganic mortar layer, applied to the masonry surface, with a high tensile resistant, non-corrosive, fiber-based reinforcement. The paper traces the main steps of an in-depth research route on a specific CRM technique, providing an overview on the experimental testing and numerical modeling experiences aimed at achieving an in-depth knowledge on its behavior and on its effectiveness in improving masonry performance. It is an example of a systematic approach to research, which deals with the complexity and multiplicity of aspects that need to be considered by professional designer when choosing among the solutions available on the market</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Na področju utrjevanja obstoječih zidanih stavb se je v zadnjih dvajsetih letih uporaba maltnih oblog, ki so armirane s kompozitnimi materiali (angl. Composite Reinforced Mortar oz. CRM), močno razširila. Tipično za take obloge je, da je plast malte razmeroma tanka in nanesena na celi površini zidu ter da je armirana z mrežico iz kompozitnih vlaken. Običajno imajo kompozitna vlakna visoko natezno trdnost in niso občutljiva na korozijo. V članku predstavimo ključne korake na dolgi raziskovalni poti, na kateri smo eksperimentalno in računsko analizirali obnašanje takih oblog na več nivojih, od posameznih materialov do stavbe v naravnem merilu. Prikazane so izkušnje in spoznanja glede njihovega odziva in učinkovitosti, s katerimi smo prispevali k razumevanju njihovega obnašanja v raziskovalni sferi in na področju projektiranja.
