The aim was study was to evaluate how different approaches to exercise - strength training and balance training - affect physical performance in a population over 65 years of age. 16 healthy elderly volunteers were included in the study, and they were randomly divided into two groups. The intervention lasted for 6 weeks, with participants exercising once a week for the first three weeks and twice a week for the last three weeks. Measurements were performed before the beginning and after the end of the exercise period using selected tests from the Senior Fitness Test battery. The results showed a statistically significant improvement in physical performance in both groups, with no statistically significant differences between types of exercise. Our findings show that regular physical activity, even if performed with minimal frequency, has a positive effect on the physical fitness and function of the older, which contributes to supporting healthy aging. Despite the limited number of participants, the study emphasizes the importance of adapting exercise programs to individual needs and abilities and the need for further research in this area</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">V raziskavi smo preučevali učinke vadbenih programov, izvedenih enkrat do dvakrat na teden, na gibalne sposobnosti in funkcijo starejših oseb. Kljub omejenemu številu udeležencev študija poudarja pomembnost prilagajanja vadbenih programov posameznikovim potrebam in zmožnostim ter potrebo po nadaljnjih raziskavah na tem področju</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-06XXCKVA"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-06XXCKVA" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-06XXCKVA/b4538a92-ec26-4a16-83ed-d882d6bd9cf9/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Fakulteta za šport</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-06XXCKVA/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-06XXCKVA" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
